2 b clear: I was terminated for a slur statement I didn’t make. My statement filled in how I got attached AFTER the factually incorrect story aired.
As a society do we now jump the gun to garner the headline without integrity attached? Have we eroded basic respect? Lesson? Kids?
Immense sadness to hear that Niki Lauda died - Ouch - one of my hero's - gladly raced in his era - strong, focused, dedicated to the end result, no matter what, admired, brilliant, RIP my friend.
John Paul Jnr saved my life in 1984. This impact stopped me hitting the wall without the front on the car. Sadly the
@IMSA
champion is now gone. RIP my friend
Shocking reveal, by
@DaleJr
on why his career ended. Struck home with me 'cos I'm 10 mnts trying to kick effects of concussion (snow ski shunt)-this book crystallized it all for me-TU. I wonder 'bout others?
Just TERRIBLE news that Gil has died. So sad. I got a call when he was trying to decide if he would come to America. Became a true ambassador for the sport. So so sad. Thoughts and prayers for the family. RIP my friend.
A true American team rejected…short sighted something here….American investment is what made F1 strong in recent years….now American investment rejection?????
Woke to very sad news that Frank Williams died. A man who proved that pushing for what might be possible was a recipe for success. He left a great legacy. RIP my friend.
I know we post this all the time but cmon.
It’s what should have been
@detroitgp
weekend... so just another excuse to watch the greatest single
#indycar
lap you will ever see.
This was a unique piece of
@IndyCar
racing history that marked the improbable achievements of many. Steve Olvey and Terry Trammell led an amazing safety team….trailblazers.
Sad to hear that the great Mo Nunn died this morning. He gave me my start in F1 with Team Ensign. What memories, what a man, what a quiet genius. RIP my friend
Had dinner with a great man last night - Steve Edwards. Was so glad he was there when I was scared and hurt in 1984. Many other drivers felt the same way during his tenure - thank you my friend.

A significant Irish motorsports name, Sid Taylor, is gone. Very instrumental in my career. 1st racing dvr I ever met. 1st racing car I ever touched (Brabham BT8). Put me in an F1 car in '77. Introduced me to Teddy Yip, Mo Nunn and Theodore Racing. Wheeler dealer....RIP my friend.
Great TV era, we had the freedom to be creative and get as close to the action as possible-I loved being allowed to think and do differently....a lot of this was driven by Terry Lingner.
The FOX broadcast
@GPLongBeach
was really cool and used
@DerekDaly500
as a bit of a wanderer around the circuit. At one point he was here in the hairpin.
Would have loved to see this shot under green!
Great read. A strong man story. Valuable life lessons laid out that many can benefit from. I’m an even bigger fan of
@alunserjr
after consuming every word. “Never beaten when knocked down- only when stay down”.
The "Pink Mercedes" is not the 1st pure copy in F1. Although not as exact as the Racing Point, the 009 Tyrrell was as close to a perfect copy of the Lotus 79 as you could get from photos. In some areas (cockpit) it was actually better than the Lotus 79.
These tests started with Williams FW14B(amazing car)-did 1 annually, Penske, Momo Ferrari, Mansell Red 5 Indycar, Tasman Indycar, Valvoline Indycar, Roush NASCAR etc. Stories went to 17 countries in 12 languages.
“Raise $200K to buy the car and we’re good to go” I was told. 11 days later I had the $$ from 3 people I had never met before. Garage nxt to us was Raynor, when Denis Firestone crashed, I walked into full time ride for nxt 3 yrs….”good to go” had a long term meaning….
45 yrs later my 1st F1 suit came back. Last worn by Irelands best known Rally Navigator, Frank O'Donoghue.....all original patches included in a bag. Pic is Monza '78.

All started with a casual comment from me to Frank when this car was banned by
@fia
“Before you mothball it, do you think I could have a run in it”. That set wheels in motion for all ex dvr TV pundits to sample it - with Annie Bradshaw handling everything.

This Christmas I wish you a house wrapped in warmth, the love of family & friends, and happiness that lasts into the new year. My tree decorating committee this year.... me, my daughter Barbie, son-in-law Giuseppe and Gabe🦮. I hope you'll send me a picture of your tree.
Did you catch last weekend’s Heritage Flight flyover at the Indy 500? Hop into the pilot’s seat and experience it firsthand!

By his request, I interviewed the true legend

last night at

Chairman’s Council dinner
@stelmo
He’s a great storyteller…..laughs galore
Historic day with “official” announcement that
@Team_Penske
now owns everything Indycar and
@IMS
. Best thing I’ve seen in Anmerican motorsports since I arrived here in ‘83
It was the "Arrivederci Tour".... it was Mario Andretti's final race. A true legend of the sport and continues this day.

Great stuff. Michael was brilliant. I was brought in by Network 10 for Australian National coverage. Anyone know who the other commentator was?

Part 1 - Sept. 15, 2001 Alex Zanardi lost both of his legs and nearly his life at a devastating accident in Germany.
20 months later

returned to complete those final 13 laps with hand controls. Unbelievable.

Perhaps the most colorful person I ever met. Direct, blunt and refreshing. He influenced many careers and will be sadly missed. He left his mark and a legacy. RIP my friend.
Imagine having a razor blade sponsor and a team mate with a beard (yes it’s me)....such was life for Ken Fildes in 1974. Ireland lost a great man and motorsports lost a winner yesterday. RIP my friend.

Crosslé. On top of a VW pick up bought by Bernard Devaney for £100 from none other than Eddie Jordan. May have been abandoned in the UK. Post by Paul Cavanagh on the Irish FF page.
