Congratulations to John Clark who has just become the first and only Umpire to officiate in an ECB Premier game aged 80. John has been a servant to the league since the Premier’s inception in 1999. A greatly respected and high-performing umpire.

On last night’s Zoom call we covered: 1) setting up expectations for the game 2) the appeal 3) umpiring around players with SEN 4) general captains’ comments, gratitude & development points A big thanks to Fran in particular for her expertise on SEN and preventative action. 🏏

Good luck and go well to all our officials and today in the first league round of the season. We have 97 umpires and a similar number of scorers out in force today, which is the most we have had for a long time.
