I'm all for the rich paying their taxes and if you dodge paying them, I'm all for accountability. I would, however, like to see some rich white people getting this same treatment. The IRS needs to go after Trump and many others.

Agree—the law is the law—fair is fair! This is why the Republicans have been having such hissy fits that the IRS were able to hire more employees recently. They don’t want anyone coming after their money.

Sure. I just want to know why the media is able to share this news with us about Kanye. Where are all the rich, white people who are going through the same thing? The media wants you to know that a black man is under investigation. That's my point.

Yes, I am well aware. It just would be nice to know that the IRS is having its own investigation of the corporate taxes as well as his personal ones.

Perhaps they are, behind the scenes, investigating the very wealthy (I hope they are). Kanye is black, a celebrity and a very wealthy man. Why do we find out about this and not some others? How many rich, white people spewed vile crap and we're not hearing about them?

Like Willie Nelson, Martha Stewart, Nick Cage, Stephen Baldwin, Pete Rose? The Chrisleys were both sentenced last week I think.

Yes, like them. I am not suggesting he shouldn't be investigated, quite the opposite. With the exception of the Chrisleys, most of those were prior to Twitter. I'm referring to the media going after Kanye (which they should) but not reporting more about the wealthy/white people.

The GOP has systematically cut IRS funding for years, stymying the complex tax cases of the rich and well connected. I’m hopeful Biden’s injection in IRS funding will see many more investigations launched & prosecuted because they’ve been evading taxes without fear for decades.
