HM Submarine Thunderbolt on 1/4/1942 at Blyth was originally named Thetis & sank on tests on 01/06/1939 with the loss of 99 crew & shipyard personnel. She was salvaged & put back into service & was sunk for a second time on 01/03/1943 by enemy action with the loss of all hands.
