By Jan 1, our most populous county will lose two more obstetrics practices, putting a greater strain on private (fewer than 5 left) and hospital-based practitioners. I’ve committed to help however I can. We need all hands on deck to prevent gaps in essential maternity care.
A new report found that 36% of U.S. counties are “maternity care deserts,” meaning they have no obstetric hospitals or birth centers and no obstetric providers.
