And with EA Sports, Activision and Konami already switching from focusing on their games to just trying to make as much money as they possibly can, I really hope that the devs who make good games continue to make polished games that are up to the standard we expect from them.

And with this year's showcase of utter disrespect to the award winners, TGA is essentially demotivating the people who make good, fun and polished games like RE4, Alan Wake 2 and Baldur's Gate 3.

IIRC last year, TGA showcased both Gollum and The Day Before, both of which were presented (and priced) like a AAA title, courtesy of TGA, driving a lot more audience to them than they would've gotten otherwise and as we saw, both these games turned out to be actual garbage.

Since TGA has become "Trailer Launch Land" I don't think they do a background check on the companies whose trailers they showcase.

Now since Twitter is talking about The Game Awards, here's why I think TGA is one of the reasons why there were so many shit games in 2023... (a thread)🧵

I can't imagine how bad it would feel to be someone who's happy about receiving an award for a game they lovingly crafted only to get on stage and see the words "Please Wrap It Up"

I just saw this image and I can't overstate how disrespectful #thegameawards is for this. Like the entire reason you exist is to honor the people who put their time and effort to create a game that is well made and fun to play.
