Vukcevic has one move and it’s ‘knock it past the defender and but in a great cross’… and it works!

Fingers crossed we have enough quality in the final third, because we look short on paper. Not expecting millions upon millions to be spent but 10 years in this league and spending like we’re in L1 again… just concerning after how last season ended

We’ve had a good start but once we get to Saturday-Tuesday-Saturday I really fear we will be stretched. We played last Tuesday and had to take off three attackers either due to fitness or injury concerns, and that’s before we’ve got into the really hectic part

Not getting another goalscorer is such a concern and it leaves us relying so badly on Osmajic, who is currently injured and could be banned very soon. Really disappointed with how it’s ended even if Armstrong looks another great loan signing

What was the plan if Smith didn’t leave Wednesday for free? It looks like we’ve been calling any club who will listen today, asking if they’ve got a striker going spare. All looks a bit scattergun and rudderless from the outside looking in

Okkels now gone as well. It’s not long since the £3m bid for Kone was rumoured, where has the money gone? We stayed up by the skin of our teeth yet investment in permanent cash signings seems to have plummeted

I don’t think we could have realistically asked for much more from what we’ve spent HOWEVER The lack of investment is alarming. Yeah there’s loan fees, agent fees etc etc but the only players we paid for are Walton, Offiah and Small and that came from Whatmough/Mawene

Right final window thoughts now North End have confirmed Armstrong is the final signing For the money we have spent, I think we’ve done very well. Some good frees, invested in a couple of players with resale in Small and Offiah, some very impressive loan signings

Wasn’t able to make it on today but that sounds like an unbelievable team effort. Seven points from those three games is a great return, lovely to see everyone buzzing 🤍

Much better second half. Happily take a point there. Some nice touches from Devine when he came on as well

All the preseason concerns on show there. Lack of any kind of control or creativity, our two modes of attack have been long ball to Smith or long diagonal to Small. Only first 45 but on that performance it’s gonna be more of the same, desperately lacking quality

(For avoidance of doubt, Iversen certainly first choice but squad players referring to Valentin/Thompson)

I can at least understand their roles but my concerns are - Hecky highlighted needing younger players but all three are 27+ - their of minutes recently. across the three, they started just 26 league games last season. Alright squad players, hopefully major quality comes later

Steve Eyre brilliant as usual on Radio Lancs tonight. Sometimes you think you get too bogged down in North End’s issues, it means so much to us that you can maybe be too emotional. Eyre has no personal ties to North End but has consistently picked out the same issues we see

#pnefc are in the doom loop of Championship clubs that can’t recruit and sell properly. Squad is bad so manager plays dull football to survive Individuals can’t thrive so no transfer fees come in to improve the squad. Fans get bored Sack manager Repeat until relegated

This end of season form has been a problem for years now and we have been sleepwalking into this situation. Angry beyond belief right now, but also sadly resigned to it
