My latest take on the Heart Nebula, framed to include its tail streaking away into deep space. The light set off 7,500 years ago and was gathered up by my little refractor scope and astro camera for around 9 hours to produce this image

Another image of the recent partial solar eclipse. It was a rare event because it was also a harvest supermoon - harvest because it was the nearest full moon to the September equinox, and supermoon because because it is closer to Earth than usual due to the elliptical orbit.

Doing some test shots for next week’s partial lunar eclipse but battling with cloud. Anyone planning on shooting next week?

Another attempt at a Milky Way shot (2 clear nights in a row - so rare!) with basic equipment; a Canon 550D, kit lens and tripod. This is 22x13sec exposures stacked. Still light pollution at the horizon even in Bortle 3 - the town of Alston I think
