Highway 421 is back open with all lanes flowing. Engine 2303, Squad 2304 and 10 personnel responded. All subjects involved stated they were "okay" and did not need medical assistance.

Fire has been marked under control by Deep Gap command. Personnel and apparatus will continue to be operating in the area for some time as salvage and overhaul operations continue.

Happening Now! Deep Gap Fire is currently working a first due structure fire on Old 421 S. near Brown's Farm Rd. Numerous fire apparatus and personnel will be in the area. Please avoid this area until further notice!

HAPPENING NOW! 07/22 at 10:05am. Deep Gap Fire is currently working 2 separate MVAs. 2304 & personnel are operating at a single vehicle MVA on Old 421 S. between Elk Creek & Parkway School. E-2303 & Personnel are also responding to a second at an MVA, Hwy. 421 S. at Stony Fork.

HAPPENING NOW! Deep Gap Fire is working a multiple vehicle accident on Hwy. 421 S. just before the Wilkes County line. Vehicles are in both the North & Southbound lanes and will effect traffic. Minor injuries. Use caution on the area!

Earlier tonight, your Deep Gap Volunteers worked a Motor Vehicle Accident at the intersection of Brownwood Rd. & Cranberry Springs Rd. at the Watauga/Ashe line. Your Volunteers worked with Watauga Rescue to extricate 2 patients from a vehicle. Engine 2303 & Squad 2304 responded.
