Maybe take a lesson from the Costco hot dog, 343. Intentionally sold at a loss yet it generates loyalty among customers by being a good deal AND incentivizes further spending. I promise, despite what corpo bean counter tells you, you can still make revenue without charging $60.

They don't think consumer-friendly. Their mindset is short term profits and their plans are to bank on the expensive microtransaction trend that other games follow.
@DecepticonCobra
Remember the days when you could just play the game and earn ALL the armor pieces? I remember those days too.
If this is the future for Halo MP, then holy shit, Halo is utterly screwed.
@DecepticonCobra
To be blunt I don’t think 343i can make a strong case against this model when the Mark V did disgustingly well. It was beating CoD in sales on Steam. Maybe it’s not sustainable long term but it undoubtedly sent a strong message.
@DecepticonCobra
Remember, it's Xbox Games studios that decides the prices. Not 343i. They're merely the Developer. The publisher is the one that decides these things. Not the Developer.
@DecepticonCobra
That was what the Mark IV was for, but yeah their model to stop making sets 1600 and under and revert to making the standard price 1800 again is a little annoying.
@DecepticonCobra
It's not sold at a loss because the hotdog is in house. In order to keep that price unchanged, they stopped buying from sellers and maid their own. That's the price the company thinks it's worth.
Really, we should be saying that since it isn't a Third-party core-
@DecepticonCobra
I'm sure they're plenty aware of this. The only problem is that they aren't exactly in any position to contradict Mr. Corpo Bean Counter
@DecepticonCobra
I honestly don't think it's 343s call at this point sadly where as the Costco thing the owner was threatening to end the whole business if the hotdog prices went up, sadly not enough ceos on the peoples side
@DecepticonCobra
I personally think they tested some lower cost items to see how players would spend money. We did get the Mark VII version of an ODST’s helmet sold individually. My guess is it didn’t sell a lot on its own and the corpos saw how they get more from bundles vs the individual items.
@DecepticonCobra
People buy other things at Costco, it's not as a loss and is instead a feature of the 200$ purchase that you get a deal on the dog. Halo infinite has nothing to offer for a cost that would make this free. Will you start spending 40-50$ to buy the season so each skin is 3$?
@DecepticonCobra
costco makes a profit every quarter. im willing to bet 343 hasnt made a profit in two years except the one time they sold the ce armour for 20 bucks
