Absolutely Halo 4, all the way. Narratively, it was everything I wanted in a Halo game with great dynamics between Chief and Cortana and wider connections to the universe with characters like the Didact and Librarian. I haven’t had an experience like it since.
Name a game that many games thought was disappointing or bad, but that you actually really loved.
Infinite Warfare's trailer managed to become the most disliked video ever on YouTube, only for it to have easily the best campaign and story in the entire series.

I actually don't like the little love story they were trying to tell thank God at the end Chief said "It was my job to protect you." I like everything else though, to this day I don't understand why Didact got so much hate.
@CovenantArmada
I mean, I didn’t read it as romantic. I saw two people who obviously care about each other but both wildly out of their depths. Only big thing I think you could read is Cortana being happy to touch Chief, but that probably stems more from her being a digital being than romance.
@DecepticonCobra
I just finished replaying Halo 4. I haven’t really touched any Halo game since Infinite released. But I have to 4 has really grown on me. I didn’t dislike it when it initially released but I didn’t love it. Thankfully my opinion on it has changed.
@DecepticonCobra
Halo 4 is honestly the best of the 343 games in terms of like what I wanted tbh. The campaign is the best that 343 has made imo and it’s been downhill ever since. Multiplayer was fun and I loved the sprinting but I think H5 had the best multiplayer
@DecepticonCobra
^^^^This. Halo 4 was a wonderful experience for me. I would have never thought an FPS game would be able to hit me in the feels like it did.
@DecepticonCobra
The game is really fun and the story is great but going from reach to 4 I really disliked the change in art style and character designs
@DecepticonCobra
The story for Halo 4 was a great epilogue to the Trilogy
Some gameplay+mechanics weren't perfectly executed...but it was an excellent story and it should have been our final farewell to Cortana...then they ruined it bringing her back
Also it has the 100% BEST Cortana design
@DecepticonCobra
I love halo 4 so much. It was everything i wanted in a sequel to halo 3. It could've done without the excessive loadouts but i loved the mp regardless.
@DecepticonCobra
4 was fun I think they were on to something with Spartan Ops but couldn’t quite figure out the formula. I also enjoyed the introduction of the promethean enemies their guns were cool. Playing split screen Fiesta on Ragnarok and Exile with my friends is a core memory for me.
@DecepticonCobra
They nailed Chief and Cortana in this story, but the main objective of the game, the main villain and the way they set up their backstory feels really undercooked.
Still a great campaign, I'd say the story is better than Halo 3's for sure.
