As a psychiatrist and amygdala researcher, I advise caution in using amygdala models of PTSD. Such models often conflate animal (primarily rodents and some primates) and human data ignoring the differences (Kent Berridge and others wrote about it). PTSD is more complex.

Listening, watching, and waiting are psychiatry's most powerful yet underrecognized interventions.
Most psych research is useless for practice. But this great study can really improve patient care. Shows 'Watchful Waiting' works for 65% typical patients. Meds should be last resort/not 1st instinct. Confirms my still useful paper:.
