This is why there were no intro cutscenes. This is (most likely) why the story was a mess. Infinity Ward’s laziness once again forced Treyarch onto a rushed project and once again completely derailed Treyarch’s plans for THEIR game. People do not hate IW nearly enough.

It was because they were in early dev on Liberty Falls Outbreak and then had to pivot cause you can't do something like that back to back. It also is why MWZ used a ton of DMZ assets.

for the uninitiated, this easter egg is dropped by mister peeks randomly in cursed mode. in higher cursed tiers you have a chance to get a better easter egg which offers a crap ton of free perks, points salvage, pap crystals, wrenches, and wonder weapons
