Brian De Palma's AMBROSE CHAPEL gleefully blends thriller tropes with farce, virtuoso set pieces, and a meta-awareness of cinematic history. Mind control. Repressed trauma. Virtual reality. Political manipulation. Gendered power dynamics. May 26th.

GOLD! Brian De Palma wrote a remake of TREASURE OF THE SIERRA MADRE many years ago that added an intriguing twist to Huston's film. Instead of gold, he planned to make it about cocaine. A reading opportunity that should not be missed. (link in the first reply)

Once, when asked about David Lynch, Brian De Palma said, "We’re very close in terms of the territories we occupy. I have the impression of seeing the same thing he does and sharing his thoughts." i don't think this connection is talked about enough!

My publisher, Sticking Place, just put out this translation of a full-career 300-page length interview with Brian De Palma, originally published in French. I think it's the essential De Palma book of the moment.
