Marjorie Taylor Greene’s amendment does nothing to cut off offensive aid to Israel nor end the flow of US munitions being used in Gaza. Of course I voted against it. What it does do is cut off defensive Iron Dome capacities while allowing the actual bombs killing Palestinians to.

After a relatively positive and mature campaign for the 2023 convention, it’s disappointing that SMC has decided that just attacking Red Star is the path forward. I gotta say that work related to GDC has been maybe the most bizarre and sect-like stuff I’ve dealt with in DSA.

5. DSA very much opposes sending arms to Ukraine. This is probably radically different from right after Russia’s invasion. DSA supports a ceasefire in abstract, but there is resistance to the terms that would actually be necessary to achieve a ceasefire (ie. ceding lands).

4. Pretty overwhelming desire for an option to… call it endorse or a voter guide or whatever… call for a vote for non-cadre candidates. Clearly strict definition of endorsements (as in, not recommending a vote for anyone else) doesn’t have majority support.

2. People believe in the potential for DSA but really felt the org/ national leadership weren’t meeting the moment. However I bet results would be different, more optimistic, post Mamdani.

1. Respondents were quite pessimistic about possibilities for mass resistance to Trump. But this was before No Kings and the LA protests, I think the results would have been different today,. We should remember, mass resistance may not come when we want it, but it does come!.
