yet no mention of Gordon bottling a header at the back post, or Gordon bottling a 50/50 challenge, or Gordon slowing down when chasing the ball down the wing and defender just ushering it out unchallenged, or Gordon losing the ball in his own half and Everton scoring from it
There was a moment in the first half yesterday when Nick Woltemade ducked out of a header. Brilliant cross to the far post from Gordon and he just stood there. Didn’t attack it, didn’t look like he wanted to compete for it. You can’t do that as a centre forward in the Premier

Bang on this, without woltemade goals earlier in the season, we would be in the bottom 3 scrapping relegation
@Pooliemags1Ttv @DavyBaty81 Sorry but comments like this are the problem as it refuses to see that he is not being played to his strengths and that we ARE where we are because of him. Without him we would be in a full blown relegation scrap!! If used correctly he would be in goal scoring positions

Let’s be honest the criticism Woltemade is getting is from all the Howe lovers, as they just don’t want to admit that Howe hasn’t got a clue how to use him, is he playing poor yeah but so is every single other player in the squad

Honestly don’t understand the stick he’s getting, being played as an 8, Howe has got a fucking clue how to use him properly, Gordon was horrendous yesterday whether he was central or wide, lost the ball for 3rd goal, and yet Woltemade is the one getting criticised
Starting to well and truly piss me off now this. Absolutley fuck all said about Burn, Pope, Murphy, Trippier who have been nothing short of useless for months. Pope literally gives a goal away a game. But as always it’s Woltemade’s fault. It’s pathetic. #NUFC

This is spot on it’s on Howe not the player, and it’s not just Woltemade, when so many players are playing poor you have to start looking at the setup and tactics rather than the players

Players 100% were poor, but that set up first 25mins was shambolic that’s on Howe, and it didn’t improve much with his changes
Daft as it sounds I’m genuinely unsure if this is on Howe. Some of those players’ performances and mistakes are an absolute joke. They’re nowhere near good enough some of them

Highlight of the match was probably joelinton turning to Howe and tindall and asking why the fuck is he playing on the wing, then Howe changed it a minute later

For me he’s best as right winger, that’s where he should get his minutes from the bench, been desperate for it to work out for him but I’d probably rather see neave get on ahead of him as a striker

All hear is you can’t change formation to get best out of Woltemade, we are playing 433 built around isak and playing players out of position to try and make it work, this 433 has brought Howe success but it will be his downfall if he persists with it
