Tech bros will never know about the joy and fulfillment of taking care of your aging parents. It's not easy, but it's absolutely worth the trouble. https://t.co/upL4oqI8R3

inTouch says on its website "Busy life? You can’t call your parent every day—but we can." My own mum said she would feel terrible if her child used it.

In this way, maybe we are tempted to see our bodies as platforms for the expression of content, managed technically, extended. But I don't get the sense that your non-corporeal life could be vastly bigger than your body in any kind of spiritual sense.

In a world drowning in banality, what is the point of writers using AI? Write what you have to write. If you need mess with AI for some ironic purpose, fine. But we don't need to add machine blabber to the massively unread, unthought archive of human culture.

Institutions don't want some outsider coming along claiming there is an outside to their structure (unless they authorize it). It's a strange kind of sovereignty.

I recall a friend who was wrangling with a relatively rare but very physical disability and the institution he was dealing with denied they were excluding him because his condition was not recognized.

So, yeah, you mention elsewhere, the institutional embrace of the institutional critique is a power play. It wrests the commons from the people, and puts all manner of expertise in its place, as a kind of accessibility.

Satire produces ambiguity, and good artists usually miss their intention. We shouldn't get too hung up on the wiki explanation. We all remain suckers for a good scapegoat because societies create their aliens. So that much remains.

Re: Starship Troopers. Working on Kafka as an undergrad, my prof, a genius, said, "What would you do if a giant bug was in your house? Honestly." I'd probably kill it. Even if it later turned out to be wrong and I paid a horrible price for my moral failure.
