Really enjoyed presenting our work on smartphone-based emotion regulation at #ICA24. We found that media-selection is the main driver of the association between affect and smartphone ER over time. It was special to be part of such great panel, and to see so many familiar faces!

. we saw that after people mindlessly scroll for longer periods, they tend to feel more guilty about how they spent such time, often because they felt they had other relevant tasks or goals to attend to. Moreover, we also found that. [3/5].

Mindless scrolling is the act of rapidly scrolling through social media platforms (e.g. reels or TikTok) with very low engagement with its content; often going on automatic mode and not being fully aware of the content and losing track of time. In our study. [2/5].

The great @JMSchokkenbroek just gave an inspiring presentation on phubbing (ignoring someone because of 📱 use) and electronic partner surveillance 🔍. She shows how the experience of being phubbed makes people check on their partner through digital tools. #ECREA2022
