Privately run schools taking public funds while not having to provide students with licensed teachers, counselors, a library, etc. This is what Jack Ladyman voted for and what “LEARNS” is bringing us. I am running to end this foolishness.

@DavidWMcAvoy @Kemmajane85 I am afraid that once this contractor gets their feet under them we can expect to see this in one poor district after another. Be interesting to see if there develops any pushback from parents.

@depayser @Kemmajane85 If I’m elected, you can count on push back from at least one state representative.

@DavidWMcAvoy They don’t have any teachers available. The schools and the communities have been run into the ground so bad few want to work there. A person with a Master’s degree can teach at a community college. Why not allow those ppl to teach in these troubled districts if they want?

@dutchdalton992 Here’s what would help with that-a well funded public school that serves as the backbone of the community and better pay for people to come teach there-things “LEARNS” and other policies of the last nine years either threaten or have taken away.

@DavidWMcAvoy If a student needs specific services, they can find another school. The LEARNS act gives more financial freedom to parents to place their children where they believe they will succeed. Let the parents have the freedom for their kids they deserve.

@ConserveMatter That’s a fantasy I’m afraid. “LEARNS” is wrecking schools and hurting our future already. What we’re seeing above will only get worse the longer it’s in place.

@DavidWMcAvoy So let me see if I understand. You want the government to use the money they steal from me to be used on an inferior product.

@spotuone50 I want the public funds we all pay to have a better society to actually go towards that instead of the mess “LEARNS” is creating like the above example.

@DavidWMcAvoy Well let’s be honest, all the licensed teachers we’ve been producing for the last 45 years all have the great honor of overseeing the massive decline in education standards. 1978 the US was #1 in academic achievements now we’re #28 in the world. 1/2

@jneumonicll Kind of hard to make the case for privatized education being better in the face of things like this. We don’t need to be scapegoating teachers for bad public policy decisions either. None of those countries ahead of us got their by privatizing schools.

@Mcrider1955 If that’s the best response the right is going to have to developments like this they might as well get ready to hand the state over now.

@DavidWMcAvoy Don't forget not having to provide SPED services to qualifying students. Public schools CANNOT ask parents to waive those rights, but many private schools regularly require that for admission, and many STILL won't admit SPED students. It's not about parent choice. Never has been.

@fools_sports I believe public funds belong to and should go to the benefit of all the people, not to lining pockets in money making schemes.

@DavidWMcAvoy What are the Universities going to do when no one goes into education because they can just work for a private Charter School with no certification or training?
