20 years ago today I joined
@skysports
... it’s been an amazing, fulfilling, and unexpected journey ... huge thankyou to all who’ve helped and supported along the way ... here’s to the next 20!

I’m so sorry to have spoiled what was such an important discussion on racism tonight. I had to intervene when Gary suggested the two main political parties were to blame - I didn’t make that clear enough. For that I apologise unreservedly.
I would never purposefully shut down a discussion on racism. I’ve worked for Sky for over 20 years and know they share my view that racism of any kind should not be tolerated. That is not a debate. And that’s why I’m so very disappointed and sorry tonight.
Congratulations to a team of giants who performed under incredible pressure … the job started by Lee Johnson and finished spectacularly by Alex Neil. Just so thrilled for everyone with red and white in their hearts. One step at a time.

Big thankyou to Sunderland fans Darren and Gary who let me jump in their taxi to the Wigan stadium tonight when I was stranded without cash … even though they thought I was a Wigan fan 😂 Top lads!
#SAFC
Just want to say big thank you to the Uber driver who went from door to door on a busy London street yesterday to find me in a restaurant, after I’d left my wallet in his car without realising. Some people are just nice.
Newcastle - if you want to “sell your house” no you don’t spend £60m on it ... but if you really want to sell it you might think about lowering the asking price. It’s not rocket science.
The Premier League have just confirmed to us that head to head is only considered at the end of the season and that Chelsea are on top only on alphabetical order … 🤷♂️
For those nerds who are wondering why Chelsea are top of the
#PremierLeague
even though they have identical numbers to Liverpool. It’s not alphabetical. Goes down to head to head and the fact that Chelsea scored an away goal in the draw at Anfield

Thrilled to be on board with
@SunderlandAFC
... let’s see if we can get people smiling again. Thanks for all the messages. Apologies for the lack of replies now and in the future. Tom is a really good guy.

have announced that |
@DavidJonesSky
has joined the club as a non-executive director.
Tom Sloanes, commercial director at GVC group, joins in the same role
(Pending EFL approval)
I’ve said it before but if you get the chance to see Messi play live you just have to do it. The man is on a different planet.

Flicking through the papers reading referees disagreeing with each other about the penalty/first goal at Anfield ... what chance has anyone else got if they aren’t clear on the rules? This is an issue that goes beyond VAR.

Rehearsal ready at Old Trafford for our first Super Sunday of the season. Jose Mourinho will be joined by

Spot on
@GNev2
and well done to
@Everton
for giving their blessing - so easy for clubs these days to keep saying no because they’re frightened of negative press.
Well done to
@CalvertLewin14
for going on MNF. Live TV , no script and for a current player to put themselves in that position takes some guts. He’s speaking well and really relaxed. ( even though I’m sure he’s a bit nervous ) . Looks the part too. Hope more do it. 💙
He doesn’t speak for me and he doesn’t speak for the board, which he isn’t actually on. I don’t recall anyone trying to get rid of the owners when we were 7th, people were supportive of Bob Murray, Drumaville and Ellis Short before he lost his love for it. 😡
This puts all those trivialities into context. The most crushing, heartbreaking news imaginable for Simon and his family. Gemma was just the most delightful girl. Simon and his family will need all our love and support.
Today I am crushed with indescribable pain. Just three days after falling ill with Acute Myloid Leukaemia, my dear wife Gemma passed away yesterday evening surrounded by her family and friends. If you are a prayer - pray for my boy Ethan. 8yrs, precious and in bits. Thank you.
Congratulations Clarky, you were an inspiration and role model to me 22 years ago when I joined Sky and my admiration for you has grown with every challenge you’ve faced down along the way with your typical bravery and phenomenal strength of character. Love you mate ❤️
It’s been an AMAZING journey, but now it’s time to bow out of
@SkySportsDarts
22 years on Sky, nearly 10 years with
#Parkinsons
Brilliant memories, brilliant people.
Just stopping doing the live darts .. NOT giving up on life. 100% my decision x
So pleased for new
@SunderlandAFC
owner
@stewartdonald3
who’s worked so hard since the takeover, won so many battles off the field, and now has the sweet taste of victory at the start of a long long road back.

Celebrating 21 years since joining
@SkySportsPL
this week! Currently working hard getting back in shape for season 22 which is less than 3 weeks away... See you soon.
Sad to see Jose Mourinho leave us ... brought a different dimension to the TV studio, particularly with his tactical insight ... but from day one we knew it was only a matter of time. Anyone got a number for Poch?

Dion, thankyou so much for all your hard work and commitment to the cause. It’s been an absolute joy to watch you play in a Sunderland shirt. Good luck with your recovery! 🔴⚪️
With a heavy heart I have to say I am unable to play for the remainder of the season due to injury, I would like to thank the manager the players and the fantastic fans. I wish you all the best and will be supporting you all the way. Ha’way the lads
@SunderlandAFC
❤️
Love this! Training ground has been buzzing this week. Spirit excellent. New players coming into the group ... Lafferty, Robson and Embleton soon. Recruitment team working hard on other targets.

Congratulations to
@SunderlandAFC
U23s for reaching the playoff final. So much praise should go to Lewis, Elliott and Ged who’ve put so much into the Academy - and who worked so hard last summer to bring this group together. 👏👏👏
It’s the first day of the season and I’m on the train heading north. All the old excitement and (foolish) optimism rushing back. Cannot wait.

📰 Sunderland AFC today received approval from the
@EFL
for Kyril Louis-Dreyfus to acquire a controlling interest in the club, signalling the start of a new era on Wearside.
Louis-Dreyfus also becomes the club’s new Chairman with immediate effect.
I’m on the board because I want to make a difference and over the last few weeks I’ve become more positive than ever that I can make a difference and I’m sure
@tomsafc
would say exactly the same.
Sleeves, it doesn’t worry me because I would feel exactly the same in their position. Words from me right now are hollow without actions. Working on that.
I don’t think
@tomsafc
or
@DavidJonesSky
warrant some of the abuse put towards them by some. Both are huge
#safc
fans who’ve real affiliation & affection for club. They’ve come on board with genuine good intentions & will do as much as their roles allow them to do, no doubt!!
Tired, emotional and finished! 147,000 steps and 78.4 miles in 3 days climbing 10,000 feet ... today really hurt but the sun was shining on me. thanks for all your support, it means so much.
