In 1863 6 meetings formed @FA & the Laws of the Game. The instigator of those meetings was @ebrcmorley. He died on 20th November 1924 which this year will be the 100th anniversary of his death. Maybe we should celebrate his life and achievements. @hulllive @LBRUT @allyrudd_times.

It will be #EbenezerCobbMorleyday on Wednesday 16 August. 192nd birthday. 9.00am l will be at Barnes Old Cemetery to attend to his grave once more. Not looking too bad just now but if neglected it will soon become overgrown.

Just spent 2 hours in midday sun beside the grave of @ebrcmorley and his wife. Many passersby but none curious enough to enquire what I was doing. Here's the result of my sweat and toil and ECM can now look out again over his beloved @barnes_common.@FA @BarnesFootball @FIFAcom

I'm no @WestHam fan but had to watch the UECL Final hoping to see @_JarrodBowen reproduce one more time what he did @HullCity many times. I was not disappointed. PotM and no press comment such as Messi, Ronaldo or Neymar might have received scoring a last minute winner in a final.

Today visited the grave of @ebrcmorley to clear the site ahead of the anniversary of his burial on 25 November. Very grateful for the help of Michael Howard and Ian Tottman as we transformed the area. See earlier posts showing the grave overgrown. @BarnesFootball @allyrudd_times

We will host our annual clean of The Old Cemetery at 10am on #Remembrance Sunday, November 13th. Join our Chair, Mike Hildesley who will lead the clean up and a minute of reflection. All equipment is provided and refreshments will be available. All are welcome, no need to book

As we approach November I am reminded that @ebrcmorley died on the 20th in 1924 age 93. He was buried in Barnes Old Cemetery 5 days later. How about we set up a working party to tend to his grave to make him proud? .@barnes_common @FA @Gareth_Roberts_.@Barnes_Village

In my last post I mentioned that the @FA badge was missing from the grave of @ebrcmorley. Here is a photo of the badge taken in April. It is possible that the person who placed it there has removed it for safekeeping so hopefully it has not been stolen. @barnes_common
