"Today's the official pub date of my newest Hoagy, "The Man Who Swore He'd Never Go Home Again." There's nothing like the thrill of holding a new book. And I truly love this one. Hope you will, too. "A crackerjack of a crime novel. Equal parts charm and cunning." -- The Strand

If you weren't up for springing for the hardcover last winter it's now available in trade paperback . The NY Journal of Books said "Pick this one up for light entertainment, flawless narrative and a charming throwback to the great of what a city crime novel once delivered."

I can never, ever decide which Albert Brooks movie is my favorite but I can report that MOTHER holds up really well to a third viewing.

No matter what happened this week, I still have my beach, my ocean and my sky to come home to.

So sorry to hear that the gifted writer Sherry Coben, who I went through the trenches with for the first two seasons of "Kate and Allie" starting on day one, has died. Working on a sitcom staff together creates a life long bond. She was only 71. RIP, kiddo. You'll be missed.

I'm thrilled to report I've just inked a two-book contract with Mysterious Press that will keep Hoagy and Lulu alive through 2027. My newest, THE MAN WHO SWORE HE'D NEVER GO HOME AGAIN, lands in March. I couldn't happier. It's an honor to be a member of the Ottoman Empire.

As I do every year on this day I celebrate my union, the Writers Guild of America, which has provided me with a living wage, health and pension benefits since I first started writing sitcoms. As a novelist I am guaranteed no such benefits whatsoever. Color me UNION PROUD.
