Chongqing Metro Line 4 Phase II is almost ready to open and undergoing final testing. Line 4 Phase II is a 11km 9 station underground urban section that costs 235 million INT$/km to build. Below is a video of the terminus of the extension, Jiazhoulu Station, by 馥谖.

I'm almost not sure if they should China their railways. Like, say, adopt a universal mandatory ID policy. I know for Europe, that's a hard pill to swallow, perhaps...

The Beijing CBD could well be getting, within the next few years, a national railway line going to a smorgasbord of other rail stations, including Beijing Chaoyang. (It's almost like you *wanted* to make this happen, I know.)

Also checked out Shijiazhuang Zhengding Airport. There are free buses between the HSR station and the airport — in fact, taxi drivers at the airport actually would point you to the free shuttle! They leave 30 minutes before an HSR departure. Also, pretty creep “copbots”! #Chunyun

Journey today also included a side journey to Yangquan, Shanxi. This city has had a North HSR station since 2009 — 40 km out of town as city gov didn’t know “what HSR was” back then. Turns out it was so popular, they now added a suburban line to the city centre station! #Chunyun

Making just a brief stop here at Baoding East. This station is going to see an expansion due to a new line being added here — that will be a more “diagonal”, direct line ultimately going between Beijing and Kunming. Next stop my end is Shijiazhuang. #Chunyun
