After 28 years, just finished my last day as a staffer at Newcastle Chronicle. From Thomson House, to working remotely for the last three years, it's been a fun ride. Looking forward to taking the summer off 😎🍺⚽️🚴‍♀️🥁- then embracing a new challenge towards the end of the year.

Great to report #NUFC under-13s - including our nephew - have won the Mina Cup out in Dubai ⚽️👍

Nephew is representing Newcastle United under-13s in the Mina Cup out in Dubai. The tournament features 40 clubs and academies from around the world, including Barcelona and Man City. Today #NUFC beat Empire FC of Antigua 2-0 & Desert Falcon FC of Dubai 6-0 (nephew scored⚽️⚽️)

Down at the Quayside today. One of the workers confirmed the scaffolding going up on the Tyne Bridge was for the long-awaited paint job to finally get underway. Last refurb took place in 2000. The bridge marks its centenary in four years time.

Seen some great #NUFC midfield performances down the years, everyone from Gazza to Rob Lee. Bruno was superb today. ⚽️⚽️

Fun but freezing cold afternoon at the #NUFC Academy in Little Benton watching our nephew playing for the Under-12s. Queens Park FC from Glasgow were the opposition. Some really promising young talents on display 🤞

Two sporting legends gone on the same day - Franz Beckenbauer and now JPR Williams. RIP.

Drinking lager in a pub at 7am. Travelling to Roker Park on the back of an open-top lorry with 25 other lads. Multiple bunches of keys being shaken in the #NUFC end. 😅 (Hazy memories of an ‘80s derby day)
