Let's add subtraction to academia! That's the message from @Leidyklotz and me. The sacred cows we listed for "trimming" were: Grading Enterprise software Reference letters Meetings Awards Academic papers What are yours? https://t.co/TvZFShMGVV

The default mode of human problem-solving is to add complexity. But we must try harder to resist, say Leidy Klotz and Robert Sutton

I live in a society that believes Jordan Peterson is a thought provoking intellectual rather than someone who is very probably enduring an ongoing and serious psychiatric event. great.

Last night AB Premier @jkenney spoke about his concern regarding the "stigma" faced by unvaccinated. Reality: Being unvaccinated is not an immutable trait or a noble stand. It is almost always simply a decision –usually informed by misinformation & ideological spin.

Why does ski jumping have judges? Probably because it's always had them. Interesting example of how and why rules persist.

Because it's always had them--despite the fact than many athletes think the "style points" system is holding the sport back.

I keep hearing that Canada is divided on vaccines. But we’re nearing 80% of the entire population with at least their first dose. We are probably more divided over Nickelback collectively as a country then we are over vaccines. This is a very vocal minority.

This will be my most sincere tweet ever. I am pleading with anyone who will listen. I’m begging you, as a nurse, from the bottom of my heart…please get vaccinated. Today. I’m so tired. We’re all so tired. And we’re running out of resources and people. Please…please help us.

I am so grateful that my university has mandated vaccinations, continues to offer both in-person and online classes, and is monitoring the situation as COVID cases rise. I really feel for my colleagues around the world who feel unsafe at work. Universities must do better.

Every year, more vets retire than graduate, and while creating more spaces in veterinary schools seems an obvious fix, most provincial governments won’t pay

Well said @CTVNewsAndrew.
We can debate and disagree with aspects of BC's approach to the pandemic, but I do not doubt the sincerity of Dr. Henry in these moments when she becomes emotional, acknowledging what living like this since March 2020 is doing to people.

How Canada Works: An ice cream company called Chapman's raised the hourly wage for employees who were double vaccinated. Anti-vaxxers found out and threatened a boycott. When ordinary Canadians found out, they started buying every single box of the ice cream on the shelves.
