Got a visit at practice today from Hall of Fame Coach Jay Ryan. Coach Ryan was with the Blue Devil baseball program for 35 years (19 as head coach) and accumulated 383 wins. What a way for our players to learn more about the history of the program they are part of. #GoBlue

@IAHSBCA Among his many awards and honors, he was named Topps High School Coach of the Year, National High School Athletic Coaches Association Baseball Coach of the year, and inducted into the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame. .

@IAHSBCA From 1960-1985, he taught social studies and coached varsity baseball at Davenport Central, winning four Iowa state championships and three state runner-up titles.

Coach Freese was a founding member of the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association (IHSBCA), and served a term as President as well as on various committees. The annual Contributor’s Award is named the Bill and Sherry Freese Award. @IAHSBCA.
