Dr. Kiiru is dedicated to exploring the complex dynamics of protected areas and broader conservation efforts across Africa. She’ll be joining an incredible lineup of women to share their insights, experiences, and visions for a sustainable future.

Rachel Carson, a marine biologist & nature writer, catalyzed the global environmental movement w/ her book Silent Spring. Outlining the dangers of chemical pesticides, it lead 2 a ban on DDT, other pesticides & sparked the movement that ultimately led 2 the creation of the EPA.

Women globally lead environmental initiatives 4 a sustainable future, yet receive less than 2 cents 4 every philanthropic dollar. DFE changes this by swiftly funding women on the frontlines. Since launch, over $2.4 million has supported 103 projects in 37 countries.
