Rachel Carson, a marine biologist & nature writer, catalyzed the global environmental movement w/ her book Silent Spring. Outlining the dangers of chemical pesticides, it lead 2 a ban on DDT, other pesticides & sparked the movement that ultimately led 2 the creation of the EPA.

Women globally lead environmental initiatives 4 a sustainable future, yet receive less than 2 cents 4 every philanthropic dollar. DFE changes this by swiftly funding women on the frontlines. Since launch, over $2.4 million has supported 103 projects in 37 countries.
