Congratulations @amnestyOz on a great event showing how everyone benefits from @AHumanRightsAct Amnesty is part of the 109 civil society organisation strong coalition calling on the Federal Government to put equality, freedom and dignity at the heart of our laws through an Act.
The Parliamentary Joint Committee on Human Rights recently recommended Parliament legislate a Human Rights Act. Thank you to everyone who joined Amnesty's event to discuss this recommendation, and how we can work together to protect our human rights in our laws.

WIN: Our human rights rely on a healthy environment. We applaud @actgovernment for placing a right to a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment in the Territory’s Human Rights Act. This law places this right at the heart of government decisions. More: https://t.co/wyewa9028v

Fantastic for @amnestyOz and @humanrightsHRLC to have such positive meetings with Federal MPs on how everyone benefits with a Human Rights Act! The Parliamentary Joint Committee on Human Rights recommended an Act, next step is for the Albanese Government to make it a reality.
Last week we met with Members of Parliament including @stemplemanmp to discus the recent Parliamentary inquiry on human rights, and the need for a Human Rights Act so that everyone in Australia can create a fairer future.

We strongly support disability representative organisations, including @WWDA_AU, @dana_advocacy, @PWDAustralia, @NEDA_PeakBody and @CydaAu, on their joint statement. People with disability benefit from a national Human Rights Act. The Albanese Government should make it a reality.
Disability Representative Organisations have united in support of a national Human Rights Act in Australia. We believe the human rights of people with disability must be protected in Australian law. Find out more: https://t.co/pDtIbDrR7l
