He stopped the sun for Joshua. He parted the Red Sea for Moses. He brought three teenagers out of a fiery furnace without the smell of smoke. He opened prison doors for Paul and Silas. He raised Lazarus back to life. Never doubt God’s mighty power.

When anxiety attacks, don’t try to do it on your own. Go to God in prayer. Ask Him for His help. It says to pray with supplication. That means to lower yourself, to go in humility, admitting your dependence on Him. “God, I need You. I can’t do this on my own.”.

What God is about to do is going to be unusual, uncommon, out of the ordinary. You’re going to see rivers where there should be dry places. That’s why you can’t figure it out. It’s not going to be logical.

Michelle and I send our congratulations to a fellow Chicagoan, His Holiness Pope Leo XIV. This is a historic day for the United States, and we will pray for him as he begins the sacred work of leading the Catholic Church and setting an example for so many, regardless of faith.

You have to learn how to make progress under pressure, to keep moving forward despite opposition, despite uncertainty, despite being misunderstood. You can’t control everything that happens around you, but you can control what happens inside you.
