Apple is not typically first with these kind of products. And these arguments of "well, other company does XYZ for less" are valid. BUT . when Apple enters a product segment, it tends to validate that segment. Brings it to the mainstream zeitgeist.

That being said, that's a general AR use case and not an Apple specific one. Enterprise, manufacturing, and industrial AR solutions been in the works for a while. May not be quite so snazzy and fresh as Apple, but, for those sectors, doesn't need to be.

Apple's new AR goggles may be kind of shrug worthy as a consumer tech device (for now), but they will be very useful in manufacturing and industrial settings. For instance, hands free, real-time training.
