My new article for FreeThink mag talks about why AI taking all the jobs is a myth. I'm going to expand on it in an upcoming article because it's a crucial topic these days and at the heart of why we keep getting stupid legislation and why doomers keep getting obscene funding.

**GPT-5 First Take**. So far my early impressions of GPT-5 for coding are:. 1) It's very good at test driven development and spec driven development. If you are a verbose prompter who likes to bat around a strong development plan and architecture before doing things, then it can

On January 6, 1995, McArthur Wheeler and Clifton Earl Johnson robbed two Greater Pittsburgh banks at gunpoint without attempts to disguise themselves. Instead, they covered their faces in lemon juice, believing it would make them "invisible" to security cameras. Johnson was.

How many more model releases do we need for folks to realize we are not getting to magical superintelligence with what we got?. How many times do you have to see a model benchmaxxing to realize Humanity's Last Exam is a freaking idiotic name and that answering questions on it.

When terrible reasoning leads to even worse life decisions. These people will look back and think "my God what an idiot I was when I was younger." . They'll be in good company with me and most of the human race. Youth is wasted on the young.

Harvard and MIT students are leaving school because they're scared of where super intelligent AI is heading. Many are jumping into AI-safety jobs and startups, hoping to steer the tech before it triggers 20% unemployment or worse. “If your career is about to be automated by the

I got super tired of Claude Code getting amnesia 🧠✂️ after every auto-compact. So I fixed it for real. Meet Flashbacker 🧠⚡: Install it in any project you're working on with 'flashback init' and watch it go!. It gives Claude much better memory by

We’re also upgrading subagents and giving you the ability to call them directly. @-mention a subagent in your prompt to ensure it gets called (e.g. @.code-reviewer).

People will really regret being anti-open source in the future when giant companies know everything about your life, can gate your access to information with intelligent filters for "your own good and safety" and can rug pull you whenever they don't like the cut of your jib.

People are focusing on the "lol OpenAI is using Claude" thing and not on the much more important "AI labs can rugpull your access to intelligence whenever they want" thing. Competitive open source AI is going to be required to maintain a functioning society.

AI doom prophecies on YouTube continue to target children/young adults – adding 'doom' to their 'doomscrolling'. Some of the anxiety-inducing fearmongering is funded by EA, including $10M from Open Philanthropy given to Kurzgesagt ($7.3M) and Rational Animations ($2.7M)

I compiled this list to expose the absurdity of the AI regulatory landscape, detailing all enacted and pending U.S. AI regs (Note: “Enacted” mixes laws, pre-effective regs, & guidance). Since the 10yr moratorium failed, the AI policy landscape risks getting more complex.
