"But as far as paying players, professionalizing college athletics, that's where you lose me. I'll go do something else, because there's enough entitlement in this world as it is."
-Dabo Swinney
Anthony Davis: I want to leave New Orleans so badly, I don't care about a $240 million super-max extension.

Fun fact: Boobie Gibson was MVP of a rookie-sophomore game that included Kevin Durant, LaMarcus Aldridge, Rajon Rondo, Brandon Roy, Al Horford and Paul Millsap!
At least FIVE of the Mavericks, Nuggets, Warriors, Rockets, Clippers, Lakers, Grizzlies, Timberwolves, Pelicans, Thunder, Trail Blazers, Spurs and Jazz will miss the playoffs next season. That's just sinking in.
Lauri Markkanen said Phil Jackson "made me taste raw fish or raw steak. I didn’t like it."
There's a HUGE difference, and I want to know how much I can shake my head at Jackson.
Given that Tyreke Evans had never been suspended for drugs prior to being dismissed and disqualified from the NBA today, it appears he is being punished for a Drug of Abuse. Drugs of Abuse, per the Collective Bargaining Agreement:
Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson should obviously be an All-Star this year. Everyone with his stats (18.2 points per game, 38.2% on 3-pointers, 95.8% on free throws) over a full season has been an All-Star.
Derrick Rose was the youngest MVP in NBA history (22). He has played 237 games since.
Karl Malone was the oldest MVP in NBA history (35). He played 366 games afterward.
No such team has won a title. The 1982 Sixers reached the Finals after a 40-point loss in Game 1 of the East finals to the Celtics. The 1998 Jazz technically did it too but their 40-point loss came in the Finals.
I can't stress this enough: No matter how it's spun, this is not genius cap maneuvering by the Lakers. It's the Lakers surrendering more assets after not getting favorable enough terms in the original Anthony Davis-trade framework.
There are two ways this can go:
1. Wagner, Jones and Bonga have positive trade value -- in which case the Lakers are giving up even more.
2. Wagner, Jones and Bonga have negative trade value -- in which case the Lakers must give up even more as sweeteners.
