This is a sobering reminder of the heavy toll esophageal cancer takes both globally and here in Uganda. The fact that it ranks 6th in incidence but 3rd in mortality locally shows how aggressive it is and how often it’s detected late. Thank-you for raising awareness. @PimerMercy.
Globally, esophageal cancer ranks among the top 10 cancers in incidence and is a leading cause of cancer-related deaths. In Uganda, it is the 6th most common cancer and the 3rd deadliest among cancer types, posing a significant public health challenge.
