Defenses are calling less Cover-2 this preseason. So that’s definitely part of it. But I don’t think it’s enough to warrant over 25% reduction.

I can’t find another route that drops off even 1% in preseason.

% of Plays league-wide with a post route:. 2024 Preseason: 15%.2024 Reg. season: 22%.2025 Preseason: 15%. Why do teams hide their plays with post routes? No other route has even close to this level of preseason drop off. Can someone smarter than me explain this?.

The NFL should introduce its own Paul Hornung Award — Awarded to the most versatile player in college football. Would be cool to see Bo Melton in contention although Travis Hunter is likely guaranteed to win.
