Thinking about the fact that a timeskip could mean we start S3 with a fully completed Rivendell.

Thoughts:.- Very glad the War isn't going to be quickly resolved post-Eregion.- Timeskip could be good & probably inevitable. Won't be the last one either (S4-5).- Filming starts in the spring? See you late 2026.- Mainly just happy for the cast & crew that the adventure continues.
Jumping forward several years from the events of Season 2, Season 3 takes place at the height of the War of the Elves and Sauron, as the Dark Lord seeks to craft the One Ring that will give him the edge he needs to win the war and conquer all Middle-earth at last.

Expanding a little more:.Eregion, Khazad-dum & Lindon worked most effectively as a complete story, although still rushed at times. Númenor hit all its canon plot beats, but skipped the connective tissue to give it impact. Rhûn/Pelargir had promising starts but missed the landing.

I'll talk about this more on tomorrow's livestream but here's my (not really) hot take on Season 2:. Whilst S2 had higher highs and featured the show's best work yet. Overall, S1 had a more coherent structure, with better pacing that balanced all the plots more effectively 🤷♂️.
