How do y’all with ADHD (and/or other accompanying mental health problems that come with ADHD) manage to keep this dream alive?.

I am fairly convinced at this point that writing is nothing more than just another fixation for me that continually wanes just when things are going good.

ADHD means you don’t have hobbies, you just have a ton of hyperfixations that you get bored of, switch around, get bored of again & eventually forget about completely until you stumble across them in a closet. Oh, & most of them are expensive fixations. In other words….

ADHD is when you FINALLY have the urge to do something creative in the form of Miniverse but know if you start it you will completely forget about the laundry you HAVE to do today because time blindness & hyperfixation.

It’s been 48 days since I’ve written anything, since I’ve even stared at a blinking cursor. I’ve hardly thought about writing. This draft was supposed to be done by now. I was supposed to be editing now. I don’t think this is coming to the query trenches in early 2026 anymore.

I feel personally called out by ‘The Book Job’ episode from The Simpsons. It’s not helping the imposter syndrome either. If you haven’t watched it, go watch it.

I love dreaming b/c my mind whips up some crazy ass shit that has been writing fodder before. My dreams are VIVID. But lately my dreams seem to be just torturing me with real life wounds. Way to make me think one of the worst betrayals of my life had been rectified, mind.

Reasons why I haven’t gotten an offer of rep yet:. -I’m too broken. -I’m probably a ghost in physical form. -I literally haven’t even made it into the trenches yet. Mainly the latter. Somebody force me to write this story or I may never make it to the trenches. 🙃😂.

I had really hoped to break 900 followers this month with pitch events, but considering how little I’ve been able to be online this month due to jobs, I can tell it’s not going to happen. Numbers go down instead of up when you don’t stay consistent. 😕.

Guess what? It’s been 2 weeks & I’m already searching for a different 2nd job. My body just can’t handle these hours & lack of consistency. I should have known better, but I was desperate. 😔.

I’m so sorry to all my #questpit listers that I never got to! The new job is taking up more of my time than I ever imagined it would. I’m beyond exhausted. I haven’t even been able to keep up with personal stuff, let alone anything else. Either I’m working or sleeping. 😮‍💨.
