If you are trying to start making simple videos in Linux, use FlowBlade. I've tried a LOT of programs to do it. Like kdenline, shotcut, opentoonz, openshot, pitivi, etc. They are either too complex for my little brain or not fluid in performance. Flow blade is simple and fluid.
