Yup, highest bidder now or a potential pay out the year after. It’s not just the players tho. Low and mid major programs will say come here for a year, kill it & go get paid somewhere bigger the year after.

@DRIVEBasketball I agree but the money was not a concept for majority players in HS & College to even be concerned about until they reached the Pros. The shift in effort & pride on playing for the right program started to diminish when these advisors, coaches, & agents came into the fold IMO.

USports and D1 coaches used to be mad when someone transferred. Nowadays, they congratulate them and continue to support them at their new school. They also use it to market their program (we can move you up). The business of basketball has changed so much in the past few years.

The best player I ever player against in College was Joseph Forte at North Carolina. He once scored 30p in the ACC (during peak ACC) and didn’t even attempt a 3p FG. He was a master of moving without the ball and creating shots in the mid range off the dribble.

It’s a shame that CC has been hurt for the majority of this season for many reasons but the fact that Paige is this good this fast in the W makes it even worse she’s not playing. The discourse and comparisons of the two would take the W to another level of popularity.

I’ve seen players struggle all weekend, then a highlight reel drops making it look like they dominated. Nothing wrong with posting good moments, but when clips create the illusion of dominance, it leads to bad evals and false rankings.

Highlights don’t tell the truth. Anyone can look good in a handpicked reel. Real evals come from full games—how you defend, make reads, impact winning. Clip culture is fooling people.

Have tried to tell lots of bigger less skilled wings to find a conference where they can play the small ball 4. Make a 4 guard them. Always go up. Never works the other way.

You don’t move down to a new position — you move up to create an advantage. A 4 doesn’t suddenly become a 3… but a skilled 3 can slide up and punish 4s. FIBA Melo, FIBA LeBron, always go small. KD is an elite everything. But kills as a small 4. Too many want to be guards.

The work always has to be the work. You can chase IG clout all you want — eventually you’ll still have to prove you can really play.

2nd most dominant player ever next to MJ imo. Lakers strategy in those years was “we have Shaq and you don’t.”.

Just watched the Bandits vs CGY CEBL game from yesterday. Elam ending provides a lot of entertainment and is a cool way to end a game but when it comes to playoff and championship time they should just play regular basketball. That would avoid situations like this.

I think we all just love basketball period here in Vancouver. Also, we love LIVE basketball more than anything. The Bandits are doing a great job and having a WNBA team with the best women’s players in the world would draw all basketball fans and families imo.

@DRIVEBasketball A WNBA team should 100% be on the radar for Vancouver. I have friends with daughters thay play hoops and they pay attention to the league so its definitely growing at grass roots here. Love to see to it happen for them.

Not taking anything away from Seattle and Atlanta who both have great players and stars, but can’t help but think how the WNBA game in Vancouver would’ve been with one of the superstars of the W playing. CC, Aja, Breanna Stewart, Collier & even Paige. Still was a great turnout.

Not in Vancouver at the moment so I missed the game, but thoroughly impressed with the turnout and support of the WNBA game last night. What a strong & enthusiastic basketball community we have. A WNBA team and obviously an NBA team would absolutely thrive in Vancouver.
