The Allen Oakwood Correctional Institution's "Lifer Garden" recently donated over 480 pounds of produce to the Lima Allen County Neighborhoods in Partnership and the Liberty Retirement Home.

This week's #StaffSpotlight is Rick Schmidt, a reentry coordinator in the Mansfield area. Rick was working at the Delaware County Community Resource Center in May when a formerly incarcerated person approached him with this short note.

Nearly 300 children recently received free school supplies thanks to the staff of Grafton Correctional Institution (GCI). Children also met K9 Kallie and additional GCI staff who shared some encouragement for the start of their new school year. Fantastic work, GCI staff!

Congratulations to recent graduates from Chillicothe Correctional Institution! This graduating class earned 23 GEDs, one high school diploma, 11 HVAC certificates, 17 construction technology certificates, 15 associate degrees, and four bachelor's degrees.

DRC's Employee Services Team recently conducted training for peer support team members at the Clinton County Resource Center. The staff at the resource center are in the process of developing a peer support program aimed at serving first responders and county employees.

Chillicothe Correctional Institution recently celebrated two retirements. Officer Strausbaugh retires with over 40 years with DRC. Officer Pummill is retiring with over 30 years. Their leadership, wisdom and unwavering work ethic have helped shape the team at CCI and across DRC!

Last week, the Cincinnati Adult Parole Authority (APA) participated in National Night Out across different areas of southwestern Ohio. Families had the opportunity to interact with our parole officers and learn more about the APA.

The Women in Corrections team from Chillicothe Correctional Institution (CCI) recently donated household items to Seeds of Hope, a tiny home community in Ross County that helps keep families from experiencing homelessness. An incarcerated person group at CCI also raised $500.

A service at DRC's Correctional Reception Center led to the baptisms of 80 incarcerated adults. Thank you to Rock City Church for partnering with us on this day. We'd also like to thank DRC's chaplains and religious volunteers who support the spiritual needs of our population.
