On Int'l Day of 🌍 #IndigenousPeoples, we reaffirm our commitment to #UNDRIP & the rights of #IndigenousPeoples. Denmark will continue to advocate for #IndigenousPeoplesRights, including the right to self-determination & participation & we call on all States to do the same 🇺🇳

This week, @UN_HRC is all about the rights of #IndigenousPeoples around the 🌍, with the 18th session of #EMRIP taking place. This year’s discussions on #Indigenous data, languages & participation are all important & very timely. 🇩🇰 & 🇬🇱 look forward to participating actively!

It's a wrap! #HRC59 has concluded 🥳. The last 3 weeks, DK has worked actively to promote key 🇩🇰 #HumanRights priorities, incl. on #GenderEquality as well as new & emerging #DigitalTechnology. Thanks to @UNHumanRights, delegations & civil society for constructive dialogues 🇺🇳

The 🇺🇳 #HumanRightsCouncil just now adopted the resolution on #HumanRights & new and emerging #DigitalTechnology by consensus 👏. 🇩🇰 is proud to be in the core group, together with 🇰🇷🇦🇹🇧🇷🇲🇦🇸🇬, promoting mainstreaming of human rights in tech, as well as implementation of the #GDC.

Today at #HRC59, the Nordic-Baltics 🇩🇰🇪🇪🇫🇮🇮🇸🇱🇻🇱🇹🇳🇴🇸🇪 expressed deep concern over widespread, serious human rights violations in Burundi, incl. torture & SGBV. We strongly urge the 🇧🇮 gov to fulfil its responsibilities & to fully collaborate with the UN human rights mechanisms.

#HRC59: maintaining their own justice systems is a🔑 part of Indigenous Peoples' right to self-determination. In the dialogue with @SRjudgeslawyers today, the Nordic-Baltic States shared examples of this from 🇩🇰🇬🇱🇫🇮 , reiterating our support to the rights of #IndigenousPeoples.
