Blind Spot Animal Sanctuary's stunning Meishan girl, named after the movie Okja, soaking up the love on a cold morning. Okja came to us 8 yrs ago from Chatham County Animal Shelter. Against all odds, she found safety, dignity, and a life where she’s cherished every single day

Barney with @AceOfHeartsDogs is a 6 yr old English bulldog mix. He was found as a stray and taken to a city shelter, where we rescued him just in time. Barney is a goofy, sweet boy, who wants to cuddle on the couch all day. With the grant from DDAF he is getting help he needs.

This is Jasper, he was found at one of the school campuses in terrible condition. He had an already healing hip fracture and broken tail, along with a skin infection. Your grant allowed Hoof or Paw to get him in foster and begin treatment to get him well. He’s doing much better!

Leia with ACTion Program for Animals is 12 years old; she came to us with terrible mammary tumors and also has a heart murmur; she underwent surgery to remove the biggest/troublesome tumors and was adopted by an elderly couple.

Who needs roses when you have tickles and chase games? This Valentine’s Day, Limbani and Tuffy with @SaveTheChimps remind us that love can be loud, silly, and full of laughter. It’s an absolute joy to see them playing, tickling, chasing one another, and laughing together.

The mustang herd at @HorsesTirNaNog wishes you a Happy Valentine's Day. Our hearts are so full. This season of love is a beautiful reminder of the kindness of our animal welfare community. Our herd is so grateful for the love that you show them and your support of DDAF!

A perfect Valentine’s Day reminder that love is about comfort, closeness, and companionship. September at @SaveTheChimps often looks to Cayleb for reassurance and will ask to eat meals with him or build nests on his favorite bench. Thanks DDAF for your support!

A woman facing imminent homelessness – with 3 children, 5 cats, and 2 dogs – came to @HARPSavesLives shelter desperate to find a safe place for her pets. One of those pets, Harley the cat, struggled to find contentment again after her surrender. Now has forever home!

Here is a picture of some of Cheboygan County Humane Society's adoptable kittens as well as another photo of a cat, in the live trap, that we neutered for TNR.

We at Opkit Kitty Sponsorship Program Inc are firm believers in the trap/neuter/vaccinate/release (TNVR). Some cats can't be safely released back to where they came from and they stay at our shelter Golden Oldies Retirement Home for Cats, Dogs, and Horses.

JimBob is 10+ years old; he came to Action Program For Animals with terrible teeth, a jawline that has mostly disintegrated, and a heart murmur; he underwent a dental surgery and survived it and is now doing well and in a fospice home.

2026 had just begun when Kairo, a 3-yr-old hound mix, was found as an injured stray. @NEHumaneSociety vets performed FHO (femoral head ostectomy) surgery. He is currently healing in foster care and receiving check-ups with NHS vets. Once recovered will be ready for home.

We’re excited to introduce one of our newest prospect dogs who has just begun his training journey with us at Working Dogs for Conservation. Meet Tonka! This beast-mode chocolate lab was found close to Missoula, MT. Here’s to a new year of conservation impacts.

Tessa has spinal pain that cannot be surgically corrected as well as other medical issues and requires long-term meds to keep her mobile and out of pain. Tessa's owner receives disability benefits. The cost of meds is difficult to maintain. Thanks DDAF for grant to @thepetfund

These 9 month old Siberian Huskies with @AveryHumane are handsome boys with hearts as big as their personalities. They were sadly abandoned at our shelter, but they haven't lost their sweet, loving nature.

April is very much a chimp’s chimp, preferring the company of her fellow chimps over humans. You’ll often find her at @SaveTheChimps high above the ground, playfully navigating the ceiling straps with Cash, or tucked away under a cozy blanket grooming and cuddling with Chelsea.
