The market place for home / professional recording has really become vibrant. Both these devices have optical expansion up to 24 pres. I am not sure where the Apogee Symphony Studio range fit into this, as they have no expansion, but widely acclaimed ADC and preamps.

Interesting home recording developments. Seems Audient have launched an 8 Pre interface and SSL have launched one too. The Audient has 8 of their console pres, and the SSL emulates the famous SSL 4000 console preamps. Both about £900. These seem amazing.
