NO SCHOOL Monday, January 23 for all schools in MSAD 51 due to the storm. This is a traditional snow day (no remote learning).

MSAD 51 schools have RED/Remote learning day Friday, Feb. 4. Campus closed.

Our SnowFighters have done a great job keeping our primary routes in town clear. This short video was taken on Cross Road and it was cleared by a DPW SnowFighter just minutes later. Snow should be winding down soon, though blowing and drifting may continue into Sunday.

…and in West Cumberland, visibility is just as bad. It may be hard to tell in the video but the wind is rocking the cruiser. Winn Road by Pine Ridge Acres is one example where drifting is occurring. Complete whiteout conditions have been encountered. ❄️

Here’s a peek at current conditions looking up Beach Drive at Broad Cove Reserve along the Foreside. Visibility is much worse while in motion. Please use caution if you must travel.

Large sewer main break: Tuttle Road near the entrance to Twin Brook at 185 Tuttle Road. The Portland Water District will be shuttling sewerage by truck to minimize impacts. Repairs to begin at dawn; lane closures possible. No Twin Brook access from Tuttle Rd.

✅ Road Reopened ✅ Maine Dot inspected the bridge and cleared it for use. Tuttle Road is open as of 5:30 PM.

⚠️ Emergency Road Closure ⚠️ Due to potential damage from a crash on I-295, the Tuttle Road I295 overpass is CLOSED to all traffic and pedestrians. Please avoid the area and seek alternate routes. We will update this post when MaineDOT gives us the all-clear to open the road.

First responders are on the scene of a serious accident on Route 1 by the Cumberland and Yarmouth town line (near the Chebeague Transportation Parking Lot). The road will be closed to ALL through traffic until further notice!
