In my most recent newsletter, I wrote about the impact of John Arguello and the value of tangible artifacts: https://t.co/osht7rKQqp

Cubs Den was an absolute institution. I do want to give a special shout-out to @mj_ernst who steered the ship out of true passion after the legendary John Arguello left us all too soon.
The Chicago Now servers have been shut down. I'm working to set up a website that has all of John's work uploaded to it. Once I have it available I will let everyone know. Thank you to all the readers and contributors who made Cubs Den a success over the years.

I would not be the Cubs fan I am today without reading John Arguello's work at Cubs Den. That website was so important to so many Cubs fans over the years. Sad to see it go, but glad I got a chance to read everything over the years.

Hearing that the Chicago Tribune has shut down Chicago Now is sad. Writing there opened so many doors and created so many opportunities for folks. It was a great community of writers and readers for years and I’m thankful for relationships that started there.

One of the longest running blogs at Chicago Now was so important for many of us that wrote sports there. And John was always a wonderful conversation at parties. He is missed. And @mj_ernst has done a great job carrying the legacy forward.

Cheers to @mj_ernst for his work these past many years to keep Cubs Den, in the form John left it, in tact. The combination of John and Michael — two of the best evaluators I’ve come across — created a site with a legacy worth preserving. Can’t wait to see what’s next for Mike.

Thread: Random Cubs prospect thoughts Morel and Mervis look like guys who could reach their projected ceilings and are both about a year ahead of schedule in doing so. Canario might be on the brink of a similar big leap too. Breakthroughs like that can accelerate a rebuild.

Tonight's a good night to once again thank @ballskwok, @thats_so_cub, @CubsCentral08, @Miller_MiLB, and everyone who does video capture of Cubs prospects. I cannot reiterate often enough how helpful it is. It's time consuming and you save me like an hour each morning I write.
