My son, there is very little I can teach you. I cannot ride a bike. I would be hard pressed to change a tire. I don’t know how to start a fire or chop down a tree. I have never been in battle nor saved a life. But this…this I can teach.

RIP to Brian Wilson. Few lyrics have been as directly inspirational to me as, “I once had a dream so I packed up and split for the city…” It seems to encapsulate the risk of pursuing a life in art but also the knowledge you really can’t do anything else.
