1/15 There’s a three-walled concrete corner behind a gas station in Vernon, BC. Last winter I sat there with frost on my jacket & 8% battery, waiting for CI on the pain journal I was building for people doctors stopped believing. Story live: https://t.co/18lfRi0mMW

Dropped the full origin of https://t.co/L0f3HSWqI2 — built from concrete corners & 8% battery after the system took everything. No servers. No betrayal. Encrypted. Local-only. If you’ve coded through collapse, this is for you. https://t.co/A0MOZYzisx

15/15 To everyone reading on a bad night: You are not broken because systems broke you. Still breathing counts. The fire is still going. I’m still building. You’re not alone. 988 · https://t.co/GdsDvC4x1i

14/15 If you want tools like this to stay alive — built by someone who knows betrayal firsthand — any recurring sponsor keeps the laptop charged. https://t.co/zYkPpceB31

10/15 This is not an inspiration story. It’s a refusal story. Refusal to let medicine own my data. Refusal to monetize anyone else’s pain. Refusal to stop building without an address.

9/15 I have a son. When the thoughts get loud (shotgun, rope, vanish), one counter-signal: Don’t leave him the way you were left.

8/15 Every feature works on 8% battery, $80 cracked phone, gloves, no Wi-Fi. Because I’ve lived those constraints. Still do.

7/15 One panic button. One tap → crisis resources. No menus, no “are you sure.” Coded it the night my hands shook too hard to type my own name.

6/15 TypeScript const encryptEntry = async (entry) => { const key = await crypto.subtle.generateKey( { name: "AES-GCM", length: 256 }, true, ["encrypt", "decrypt"] ); // plaintext never touches disk. ever. };

5/15 No backend. No accounts. No telemetry. Entries encrypted with Web Crypto before they hit storage. Close the app → it forgets you exist. That’s not a bug. That’s the entire point.

4/15 My chart has one word that ends every conversation: “addict.” After that, pain isn’t pain — it’s drug-seeking. I needed proof no system could twist. So I built a tool that literally cannot phone home.

3/15 Jan 4, 2025 — library computer, cracked screen. I run npx create-vite pain-tracker Because losing your home and vehicle apparently isn’t enough to stop you from shipping.

2/15 Jan 2025 Black ice. SUV rolls twice. I crawl out thinking it might still drive. It doesn’t. Everything I own ends up in shopping carts & snowbanks. Motels when there’s cash. Concrete when there isn’t.

5/5 If you’ve ever coded while the floor moved, drop a 🛠 or your worst constraint. I read every reply. Builders recognising builders. #indiedev #100DaysOfCode
