🎉Happy Birthday to #William McIlvanney, born in 1936. He's a renowned Scottish novelist, short story writer, and poet, known as the “godfather of Tartan Noir” for his gritty crime fiction. His 1975 novel Docherty and Laidlaw revolutionised the genre. #CrimeFiction
