RIP Judge Robin Smith, who passed on today
Robin Smith Like older brother Chris, he was unable to play for the country of his birth because of the exclusion of the apartheid regime from international cricket, but because he had British parents he qualified to play for England. He played in 62 Tests from 1988 - 1996.

John Shepherd Was such a long serving all-rounder on the county circuit, it’s forgotten that ‘Shep’ played 5 Tests for West Indies between 1969-1971. His long career in county cricket was spent at Kent & Gloucestershire from 1966-1987, always seemingly with a smile on his face.

* and I was utterly convinced he played a game for Gloucestershire! But I can’t find any record of that. Could it have been a trial or 2nd 11? I know I’m not getting him mixed up with Mike Whitney who did briefly play for Glos… help me out !!
