This is not exclusively a TikTok phenomenon, that just happens to be a massive platform where it can be easy to find.
On a similar subject, I am quite worried what the long-term effects will be from the 8-10yr olds watching large amounts of stuff like *this* on YouTube.

Stuff like this happens sometimes even to regular devices with lithium ion batteries (iphones for instance have had a few cases of this issue).
However Tesla not responding to this is pretty bad, they have awful customer service.
