I think we can praise XVI without trying to downplay other FF game successes. Its quite the meaningless metric.
If you think the game is fun more power to you. Do it without putting down other games in the series.
There has been a lot of discourse about Final Fantasy XVI review scores, but it's important to take a step back and appreciate what this game has accomplished.
Outside of Shadowbringers/Endwalker, Final Fantasy XVI is the highest reviewed mainline game for 17 years.
